Time to pull up your socks!

BY SYAFIQAH IDAYU BINTI ROSLI

Uh oh. Running late?

If school starts in less than an hour and you have yet to even get out of bed, this is the post for you. The LemonSqueeziy, as is our job, brings to you your light in this dark. We do what we enjoy, and you…get to be in school early.

TIPS TO BE IN SCHOOL BEFORE EVEN YOUR TEACHER

1. Pre-preparation

Sadly, this requires a little effort on your part. Nothing will save you from being late if you still have not packed that bag or done that homework your teacher assigned you.

Here’s the deal. Do the following, and we guarantee you less panic on your part in the mornings.

  • Finish your homework!
  • Pack your school bag
  • Pick out your attire and set them out where you can see them

Ensure all of that is done before you head to bed. When you get up in the morning, you just need to make yourself decent and off you go!

2. Set aside 1 area for your school stuff

Once you have packed all you need, place your bag at one designated area. It could be beside your bedroom door, or beside the shoe rack.

Just make it a point to use only this 1 spot so you know where your things are. It would not do to be running late and not know where your pen or pencil is!

3. Organise yourself

Nothing annoys anyone more than a messy wardrobe when you are in a rush. You want to look good (or decent, at the very least) but the clothes you can find just don’t match, or you can’t find the partner of your socks (the poor things).

Yes, that’s right. March to your wardrobe right now and sort it out!

It’s a little bit of work, but it saves you more time than you know in the future.

4. Tackle that hair!

We know. We dread this too.

Now, you must be wondering what miraculous idea we have to tame that mane of hair that refuses to look good early in the morning. This is our answer: Tie it up.

If you are late, or wish to be early, hours of scrutinizing how your hair falls this angle and that will just land you straight in detention (or a downgrade). So just steel yourself, spare a minute to comb your hair and tie it up into a high ponytail. Or if you don’t like that, a bun.

For the guys, lucky you. Just comb it, gell it. Or wear a cap.

5. Take note of the time!

*Ring* *Ring*

Use your alarm clock! Be it in your smartphone or those adorable clocks that make your room look all warm and glow-y. Ironically, you tend to be ready faster when you know you have time (if you push yourself).

Ever realised the buttons won’t go where they are supposed to, or how you can’t find your shoes when you’re late?

Set your alarm clock. Panic only scares you.

That’s all, folks!

That is all we have for now. Remember that a little effort saves you a lot of time.

  1. HAH! That whole hair tying thing, gold man. It’s totally what I do. here’s a tip, don’t even comb it before you tie up high. A) saves time and B) brings out the curls and makes the ends so much more deliciously sharper. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair and it’s so hilarious to tell people haha… i didn’t even bother combing.

  2. i am going to try this tomorrow

  3. I’m loving the advice! I adore my sleep and the bus timetables decided to come forward another 5 minutes, it doesn’t seem like much but in the early hours it can draw the line between making it to school for the bell or being the one arriving a half hour into class!

  4. never knew that i could spend 10 minute instead of an hour getting ready for school
